LAWTON - A Comanche County judge has told the owner of a Lawton shopping center that if a Dec. 5 deadline for signed renovation contracts is not met, a demolition order for the property will be issued.
District Judge Keith Aycock said Wednesday that Don Mansell, who owns the Midtown Square center, had to provide signed contracts for asbestos removal and roofing repairs for the center's three buildings by the deadline. Mansell and the city of Lawton have argued about the property since 2003, and last year, the city filed an abatement of nuisance lawsuit against Mansell.
