John Mason has a computer-like mind for identifying the names of the manufacturers, suppliers and installers of asbestos-containing products present at our clients’ multitude of jobsites located throughout the country, including shipyards, onboard ships, military bases, refineries, schools, hospitals, government buildings and other commercial and industrial sites.

Mr. Mason heads the firm’s investigative department and has had keen success identifying and locating the companies responsible for causing our clients’ asbestos-related diseases.  Mr. Mason is recognized by asbestos attorneys across the country as one of the foremost experts in “product identification,” that is, the gathering of evidence to prove which companies’ products were used where our clients worked and were exposed.

Mr. Mason’s work in this area has not just benefitted clients of Clapper, Patti, Schweizer & Mason, but asbestos victims generally. Mr. Mason has shared the evidence he has obtained showing where certain companies’ products were used and was instrumental in getting these previously unidentified locations added to a number of Bankruptcy Trust job site lists, thereby permitting workers at these locations to be appropriately compensated.

Mr. Mason has worked for the benefit of victims of mesothelioma and other asbestos- related diseases since his graduation from San Francisco Law School in 1997.
