Lacey Caraway and her mother, Janet Graeff, want to educate the general public about the risk of asbestos and ban its use throughout the United States. Mesothelioma attorneys at the offices of Clapper,Patti,Schweizer & Mason are joining in this ban asbestos campaign because the heavily mined mineral causes mesothelioma, a painful and deadly cancer of the lung lining. Caraway was diagnosed with mesothelioma in December, 2005 and after three surgeries and six rounds of chemotherapy her cancer is in remission but with strict pain management. Caraway and Graeff are pushing a bill through Congress to ban asbestos. The bill is now in Committee. The Senate passed a version of the bill in October 2007.
