Ms. Schweizer has been an active member in this committee and says, "While members from each side did not get all of what they were asking for, I applaud the collaboration within the Committee and believe the end result will be satisfactory to all." They have updated the asbestos bankruptcy section and blog to reflect the recent developments in W.R. Grace & Company's (Grace) reorganization plan. Victims who were injured by exposure to asbestos can file a lawsuit against the companies responsible for the products that made them ill. Some of those companies have filed for bankruptcy protection and been granted approval by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. As part of reorganization, these companies must establish an asbestos bankruptcy trust to pay all claimants who were injured by exposure to asbestos to their products.
